"Attracting Chinese Investment - the Opportunity for Canada"
As China has grown, its accumulation of capital has resulted in several types of investment by individuals, corporations, and government entities. Four of these will be addressed here. How can Canadian firms and communities play a part in this potential investment, and what successful models from other countries might apply?

2)Dr. David Fung, Chair and CEO,  ACDEG International Inc & Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (Vancouver)
"The Challenge of Nurturing Successful Chinese Investments in Canada"
In 1990, Canada was the number 1 foreign destination for Chinese non-real-estate investments abroad.  With the state sanctioned “Going-out” policy in China in the past two 5-year plans, Chinese investments overseas have grown rapidly.  Canada has had very limited participation in the recent growth of Chinese overseas non-real-estate investments.  With the exception of investors from Hong Kong and Taiwan , recent successes of Chinese non-real-estate investors in Canada are hardly known.  How did Canada lose its privileged position and what measures can be taken to change future outcomes?
